Firstly, it's not a cross - it doesn't resemble a cross in any way, shape or form. So why is it referred to as a cross? No idea! Where did it come from? Not sure...
The Desborough Cross (locally known simply as 'The Cross') is reputedly from Harrington Hall and was possibly/probably 1 of 2 gate posts/pillars.
